The Cosmetics Conformity Certificate is a mandatory document issued through the Fasah electronic platform. It is required for all imported cosmetic products into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The purpose of this certificate is to ensure that products comply with approved technical specifications and health standards before being allowed for circulation in the Saudi market.
The Certificate of Conformity for cosmetic products is an official document that confirms the conformity of imported cosmetic products. This certificate is issued for each product individually and is considered mandatory for allowing these products to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Obtaining this certificate requires issuing a conformity certificate for cosmetics, which ensures compliance with all requirements, standards, and regulations set by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). The main goal is to ensure the smooth entry of these products into the Saudi market.
The “Ghad” electronic platform is a digital system launched by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its aim is to facilitate the registration of products in the food, drug, cosmetics, and medical device sectors. The platform allows the issuance of the required conformity certificates for trading these products within the Saudi market.
The platform seeks to enhance operational efficiency, accelerate registration processes, achieve higher levels of transparency, and ensure companies and suppliers comply with the technical standards and specifications approved by the Authority.
To ensure the listing of a cosmetic product in the Saudi market, the following requirements must be met:
The product must comply with the Gulf technical regulation GSO 1943 on cosmetic safety requirements.
Create a user account on the Ghad platform affiliated with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).
Importers: The external manufacturer must be registered on the Ghad platform before listing products.
For local factories and laboratories: A mixing license or a license for laboratories of perfumes, oils, and aromatic plants must be obtained.
Cosmetic products must be listed within the system according to the mandatory plan approved by the Authority.
